Pack Calendar

The Scouting year begins! Every scout starts with Bobcat, the foundational adventure covering the Scout Oath and Law, sign, salute, handshake, and motto. Each rank works on its own version:

• Lion (Kindergarten): Bobcat Lion
• Tiger (1st grade): Bobcat Tiger
• Wolf (2nd grade): Bobcat Wolf
• Bear (3rd grade): Bobcat Bear
• Webelos (4th grade): Bobcat Webelos
• Arrow of Light (5th grade): Bobcat Arrow of Light

Outdoors night — each den works on its required outdoor adventure (finished on our fall campout). Each rank’s adventure:

• Tiger (1st grade): Tigers in the Wild
• Wolf (2nd grade): Paws on the Path
• Bear (3rd grade): Bear Habitat
• Webelos (4th grade): Webelos Walkabout
• Arrow of Light (5th grade): Outdoor Adventurer

Dens complete the outdoor requirements at the Sweetwater Fall Family Camping trip (Oct 23–25). The Champions for Nature conservation adventure is earned at our MLK Day park cleanup in January.

Our council’s fall family campout at Scoutland — this year’s theme is Dragon Quest. Camping, campfire programs, scavenger hunts, and shooting sports. A low-cost, family-friendly weekend that also completes our dens’ outdoor adventure. Register early to save.

Cost: ~$30/family early bird (by Sept 30), $35 regular. Check-in Fri 5 PM, out Sun 9 AM.

Bring: camping gear and a completed BSA Annual Health & Medical Record (Parts A & B) for each person.

Our annual pack Halloween carnival — costumes encouraged! Games, treats, and spooky fun for the whole family.

Rank awards earned so far this year are presented tonight.

Citizenship night — scouts learn about their community, country, and being a good citizen. Each rank’s adventure:

• Wolf (2nd grade): Council Fire
• Bear (3rd grade): Paws for Action
• Webelos (4th grade): My Community
• Arrow of Light (5th grade): Citizenship

Duty to God / Family night. Much of this adventure is done at home with your family. Each rank’s adventure:

• Tiger (1st grade): Tiger Circles
• Wolf (2nd grade): Footsteps
• Bear (3rd grade): Fellowship
• Webelos (4th grade): My Family
• Arrow of Light (5th grade): Duty to God

Much of this adventure is completed at home — watch for a take-home sheet.

Join Snellville’s beloved holiday tradition! Our pack walks in the Lighted Christmas Parade (steps off ~5:30 PM), followed by the Christmas Tree Lighting at Towne Green at 7 PM, with Santa and festive fun.

Bring: warm clothes and chairs/blankets for viewing.

Personal fitness & health night — get moving, set goals, and learn healthy habits. Each rank’s adventure:

Celebrate the season at our pack Winter Party before the holiday break — games, treats, and good cheer for scouts and families.

Our pack joins National Wreaths Across America Day to place remembrance wreaths on veterans’ graves — to remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach our children the value of freedom. A meaningful hands-on service project.

Bring: warm clothing and gloves; uniform encouraged.

Personal safety night — scouts learn to stay safe at home, online, and out in the world. Each rank’s adventure:

• Lion (Kindergarten): Lion’s Roar
• Tiger (1st grade): Tiger’s Roar
• Wolf (2nd grade): Safety in Numbers
• Bear (3rd grade): Standing Tall
• Webelos (4th grade): My Safety
• Arrow of Light (5th grade): First Aid

This completes the sixth and final required adventure — from here, dens work on electives.

A weekend campout for our older scouts (Webelos & Arrow of Light) at Dominique’s Farm — outdoor skills, campfire, and cold-weather camping fun as they prepare for Scouts BSA.

Bring: cold-weather camping gear and layers.

We mark the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service by giving a day to a park our families use all year. Scouts and their families work together to pick up litter, clear trails, and leave the place better than we found it.

This is also where every den completes its Champions for Nature conservation adventure:

Bring: work gloves, closed-toe shoes, a water bottle, and a jacket — it’s January. Trash bags and grabbers are provided.

Class B uniform is fine for this one.

A special hands-on STEM night for the whole pack — experiments, gadgets, and science fun for scouts of every rank. (A special event, not a rank adventure.)

Bring your car and get it race-ready before Saturday. We’ll have a scale to check weight, tools on hand, and leaders to help with wheels, axles, and last-minute fixes.

Bring: your car — finished or nearly finished — plus any weights or paint you still need to add.

New to the Derby? Cars must weigh no more than 5 ounces and use the official kit wheels and axles. See the Pinewood Derby page for the full rules.

Race day! Check-in and weigh-in start at 9:00 AM, and racing begins at 10:00 AM.

Cars are judged on speed and design, with awards in each den plus pack-wide honors. Our champions go on to represent Pack 526 at the district derby.

Our February break trip to one of Georgia’s Seven Natural Wonders — the Okefenokee Swamp. Guided boat tours into the blackwater swamp to spot alligators and wading birds, plus paddling, hiking, and the history of the people who lived here.

We’re looking at the north end of the swamp; the exact site and lodging will be confirmed closer to the date.

Bring: camping gear, layers for cold nights, bug spray, and plenty of water.

Our biggest night of the year. The Blue & Gold banquet celebrates the anniversary of Scouting in the United States, and it takes the place of this month’s pack meeting.

The whole family is invited. We’ll share a meal, recognize what our Scouts have earned this year, and hold the bridging ceremony for our Arrow of Light Scouts as they cross over into their troop — the last night as Cub Scouts for our 5th graders.

A special maker night — building, tinkering, and creating! Scouts design and build hands-on projects together. (A special event, not a rank adventure.)

A relaxed pack game night — board games, card games, and scout-themed tabletop fun. Bring a favorite game to share! (A special event, not a rank adventure.)

Spend a night among the animals with Zoo Atlanta’s NightCrawler overnight program — a guided after-hours walk to see nocturnal wildlife by red flashlight, a behind-the-scenes tour, and a sleepover in a climate-controlled zoo building.

Bring: sleeping bag & pad, pillow, flashlight (red lens if possible), and toiletries.

Den Choice night — each den picks an elective adventure to work on and finish before the year ends. Not sure which? Browse the full list of rank adventures on Scouting America.

Bike Night! Bring your bike and helmet for a safety-skills course. Each rank has a cycling elective:

• Webelos (4th grade): Pedal Away

Bring: your bike (brakes working, tires inflated) and a properly fitted helmet.

A spring weekend of tent camping, campfires, fishing, and outdoor fun as the pack closes out the camping year together.

Bring: tent, sleeping bag & pad, weather-appropriate layers, and a camp chair.
